Bitterroot cuts one m of 74.5 g/t Au at Mineral Creek
2005-12-29 19:39 ET - News Release
Mr. Michael Carr reports
DRILLING INTERSECTS 74.5 G/T GOLD (2.2 OZ/TON) OVER 1.0 METRE
Drilling on Bitterroot Resources Ltd.'s Mineral Creek project near Port Alberni, B.C., continues to intersect high-grade gold mineralization in the 1050 zone. Drill hole BTT-1059 returned 74.5 grams per tonne Au over a core length of 1.0 metre, which represents a true width of approximately 0.9 metre. This intersection is approximately 20 metres down dip from the previously reported interval grading 402 g/t Au over a core length of 0.4 metre, which represents a true width of approximately 0.35 metres. The high-grade gold-mineralized 1050 zone has now been intersected along a strike length of 130 metres and approximately 60 metres down dip. The structural zone, which hosts the 1050 zone, is untested by drilling outside of the area of drill setups No. 1 and No. 2 and is open at depth.
The drill has been moved to a new location, approximately one kilometre east-southeast of the 1050 zone to begin testing the area below the high-grade 900 zone. Drill hole BTT-N-1 was completed to a depth of 224.6 metres (azimuth, 226 degrees, dip -55 degrees) and is currently being logged and sampled. Drill hole BTT-N-2 is under way (azimuth, 226 degrees, dip, -75 degrees).
Rehabilitation of the 200-metre-long, three-metre by three-metre adit into the 900 zone has also begun. The portal is currently being rebuilt and secured. An underground exploration program consisting of mapping and sampling will start in January and underground drilling is planned to start in the first quarter of 2006, following procurement of a suitable underground diamond drill.

Note regarding correction of previously reported results
ALS Chemex has notified Bitterroot's management that a previously reported sample interval in drill hole BTT-1058 (erroneously reported as 11.1 g/t from 75.0 to 76.8 metres) was contaminated during grinding in its North Vancouver laboratory. The sample split has been reassayed twice and returned 0.076 g/t Au and 0.077 g/t Au. For clarity, a copy of ALS Chemex's letter has been posted on Bitterroot's website. Bitterroot's management and qualified person, Michael Becherer, PGeo, have reviewed the data and concluded that this analytical error does not have a material impact on the Mineral Creek project. A corrected drill site plan and cross-section are included in this news release.
Samples from the Mineral Creek project are analyzed by ALS Chemex, a division of ALS Canada Ltd., at its North Vancouver laboratory by 34 element aqua regia ICP-AES (ME-ICP41) and Au 30-gram FA-AA finish (Au-AA23). Samples containing more than 10 g/t Au are also analyzed by Au 30-gram FA with gravimetric finish (Au-GRA21). Michael Becherer, PGeo, is the qualified person responsible for the design and execution of exploration programs and technical reporting on the Mineral Creek project.
