Al Masna(a)Kitstrader:
The Al Masna nickel prospect as referred to in todays NR is located in the Sadah region in the northern part of Yemen. It was previously reported that this area contains simular geology to the Al Masane and Dhahar copper-zinc mines area in Saudi Arabia about 100kms to the north. Cantex's Al Fayd gold prospect is also in the Sadah area.
But back to Al Masna - this area was previously looked at by the Germans and if my memory serves me correct by the Romanians as well.
In 1982 the Germans drilled the Al Masna gossan and obtained a 0.39 meter drill section that assayed 7.6% nickel,1.2% copper and 0.5% zinc, so something interesting lies below the surface and perhaps at surface as well as at least 15 gossans have been found in a 4000m by 800m area centered on this discovery.
Last September Cantex reported that ground magnetic surveying had been completed on an area of 2000m by 600m centered on the reported nickel mineralization and that grid soil sampling over this same area was largely complete. So with today NR at last or at least we now know where the CMMY Yemeni geologists have been active. It seems that they have increased the grid soil sample size by 1.5kms by 600 meters - nearly a sq. km.! It will be interesting to see if the geochemical results of this increased sampling area add to the present five geophysical anomalies that have been reported. --- Let's hope that it does not take another 9 months to bring these results to fruition.
