RE: Economics"GXS has coal. CDB has coal (historical). The coal that GXS has is 75metres down and 50 metres thick. The coal that CDB probably has is 17metres down and 145 metres thick. If you're a big guy a couple yearsfrom now when coal is the rage and it can be burned cleanly in all thenew power plants that atre being planned and looking to buy up a 43-101deposit which do you buy?" - Snogdoggy, 2009
There is not 145 m of continuous coal, or anything close to it, in the the historic drilling. The Golconda hole (DWA-A1) is 200 m to the west of The Anglo American Hole DDH4. - HighTest, 2009
"Drilling
Golconda Resources Ltd. intended to execute a follow up drilling program on the
drilling results from Anglo American Corporation in 1970 (Lenard, 1970).
In early 2000 it was decided to drill a hole in the vicinity of the DDH 4 by Anglo
American.
The drilling location was 30m south of the highway # 165 near the bridge crossing
the Yaholnitzky creek, about 200m west of the Anglo American DDH 4 hole.
The Golconda hole has been abreviated with the code: DW A 1.
Geographical coordinates of DWA I are: N 54°43'42"; W 104°55'09".
The drilling was commenced on 19 March 2000 and terminated on the third of
April 2000 at a depth of 521 m on a vertical hole.
The casing intervals are as follows:
Om - 15 m HQ
15 m - 109 m NW
109 m - 163 m NQ
Unfortunately, due to the extremely difficult ground conditions more than 220m
of casing was lost in the hole.
The unconsolidated Phanerozoic sediments were cased down to the basement,
which was intersected at a depth of 165 m. Coring started at 65m to the end of
the hole at 521m. The upper portion from 65m to 165m had a core loss of 80 %
due to the unconsolidated nature of the sediments. Below 165m the recovery was
approximately 99 %.
The core is stored at the Golconda Recources storage facility in La Ronge.
A detailed drill log shows the sampled intervals and the geology.
The ninety-four core samples were assayed at the TSL laboratories in Saskatoon."

The Anglo 3 and 4 holes are described like this....
" Drill hole no. 3 intersected Cretaceous lignitic coal seams over an 80 ft(24.3 m) interval below 627 ft (191.1 m) depth. The maximum recoveredthickness of coal seams was 2.5 ft (0.8 m).Additional small seams were intersected 18.5 miles (29.8 km) northwest, near the Yohelnitsky River, in the first 200 ft (61 m) of core, in drill hole no. 4."
