VG coreIt is standard practice to assay half the core. I assume there may have been VG in both halves. In any event, you are only seeing the surface of the core, then you cut it in half and would see the inner face.
Conclusion regarding this segment of VG - there is more high grade gold.

So they say there may be two deposits in one - significantly expanding copper / gold deposit with high-grade gold cross cuts.
