RE: Some Clarification on Tax

RE: Some Clarification on TaxI found the following very interesting “ART 171 . . . The base price will be adjusted according to the variation of the Consumer Price Index of the United States of America, published by the Ecuadorian Central Bank.” I would hypothesize that if the price of gold were to double, then the price index in the USA would also tend to double. To me, the implication is that there would be NO windfall profits’ tax in this scenario. Is this whole thing a paper tiger? Perhaps we cannot get screwed. At worst one could keep the produced gold bars off the market until the USA inflation rate brings our windfall tax down toward zero. RJ
