The Goop Boiled Over

The Goop Boiled OverNewcrest pulled their guy in disgust but I think it runs deeper since they have many irons in the fire and may have decided that Alpala was not for them. This is bad as Newcrest are the ones with the best block cave expertise.

The FNV NSR is an encumberance that nobody wanted except super Nick and his ego. It is an eternal boat anchor that all involved now have to live with.

Yes, this seems to be leaning towards BHP. The new BoD members are in a different league than the rest of SolGold Board but I would have preffered to see a stronger mining development skillset. Are they BHP aligned? Who knows?

The language in Cornerstone's response to SolGold's failed attempt to take them out leads me to believe that we will soon see another communication from them, either a comment about the new SolGold BoD appointments, or moves toward holding a special meeting.

Remember that around every Tier 1 asset there is always a fight, and more lawyers than pick-up trucks. In the end we will get paid for what we own. Patience will reward at the end of the day.

It is reprinted below entitled SolGold Board Additions. These folks are new and experienced. There is (I think) BHP money behind them.

Here are some observations;

   1) There appears to be NO Newcrest representation

   2) The comments were made by Mr Liam Twigger; there is NO sign of Mr. Nicholas Mather, currently CEO

   3) There is NO mention of CGP's initiative to REPLACE THE ENTIRE SOLGOLD BOARD. This announcement appears to be an effort to make any transition SMOOTHER.

TAKEAWAYS

1) Nick Mather will soon be replaced by Mr Keith Marshall or Mr Kevin O'Kane.

2) Newcrest may sell its SolGold shares to BHP.
CGP may be advised to follow.
Everyone knows that the biggest winner so far is FNV which stole an NSR from Mather.
Is BHP driving the SolGold bus? On the surface, it looks like it.

3) CGP may now CANCEL its request for a special meeting.

BUT.....as Yogi Berra once said "It ain't over til its over.
