The Koreans are clearly desperate for nickel and get the big picture.
- In talks with 7 Korean groups. Plus 2 others they didn't a chance to talk with.
- By 2030 just one of the groups needs the entire current North American nickel consumption.
- As time goes on the OEM deals will get costlier for carmakers due to demand.
- Talking to western carmakers he could have sold Crawford 3 or 4 times over. (WOW)
- Sounding the alarm to the majors to get their heads out of their posteriors or energy companies or large private equity companies will be stepping in to take over. Example Exxon doing several lithium deals.
- Nickel mines outside of Indonesia are the scarce commodity
- Crackdown on illegal Indonesia nickel mines caused 10% decline in ore supply and companies had to scramble. Shows the talk of excess nickel supply isn't all true.
- Doesn't see the USA doing any deal with Indonesia nickel. Would defeat the China isolation plan.
- Car companies attitude has shifted huge the last few years once they realized the supply chain reality and they need to pump in cash to get these mines built.
- Currently in Europe at a stainless steel conference. In talks with some steel groups for the chromium side of CNC.
- Stainless consumption is up 40% in China last month and projected to keep rising.
- FPX PFS was positive and good for CNC as Midlothian looks like it's mainly awaruite though only 4 holes drilled.
