Alternate battery technologies
I'm newly invested in CNC. I know there's been some discussion about different battery technologies already. Saw this article and wondering what people's thoughts are on movement towards nickel/cobalt free batteries. https://driving.ca/auto-news/technology-news/battery-startup-says-it-doubled-the-range-of-its-tesla-based-prototype

I can't keep up. First we are going to go to zero cobalt, then Elon says on battery day, "hey Canada, give me all the nickel you can". Now nickel free. Lets all work really hard at knocking $500 off a battery for a $50,000 - $100,000 car. ...but what do I know.

Thanks for the feedback and article link. I wouldn't be shocked if new battery technologies in the auto sector are adopted sooner than later. Tesla already said they are switching all their standard range cars to LFP and I think most EV auto makers follow Tesla's lead. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/10/20/tesla-switching-to-lfp-batteries-in-all-standard-range-cars.html

10 years ago or more we had Hydrogen dreams, 20 years ago or more we had Natural gas, Who owns one of these cars today? Only time will tell. GLTA

I would bet on electric vehicles outpacing gasoline ion the next 5 years. They have been very successful to date, hell they are running Hybrids in F1. The big three are retooling with the goverments backing,

Maybe not in the next 5 years but I would agree eventually that will be the case. The question for me today is what battery technology to bet on. Here's another article I found from about a year and a half ago that predicts LFP will be the winner. https://www.mining.com/lfp-batteries-to-overtake-nmc-batteries-by-2030-report/
