Isn't this potentially bad news in that it has the potential to create US competition for CNC? "The source also said that the actions being considered aren't loans or direct purchases for critical minerals; instead, they would fund feasibility studies, co-product and by-product production at current operations, as well as productivity and safety modernizations."

The USA is nickel scarce. No one can mine what isn't there, & there just isn't much nickel to be found in the lower 48. The future mine in Minnesota is small potatoes, if they can ever get a permit. Maybe Alaska has economical deposits of nickel. US nickel is no competition for Ontario or BC nickel. I would not at all be concerned about US nickel supplanting the desirability of CNC.
