Next two weeks So we know from the June 14 Comex minutes, "A preliminary version of the review report for this mining project was submitted to Comex for its consideration and comments. Comex discussed the comments made by the MELCC and CNG analysts. A final version of the report will be submitted for approval at Comex's next meeting."
If Comex did indeed approve the final version at their next meeting, which was held on July 26, then we would expect to hear about it in the minutes to be released by November 4. However, I suspect that the Quebec government would not want comex's decision made public before they make their permit decision public.
In the case of Nemaska, comex Made their recommendation on June 18, 2015 and they received their provincial permit on September 2, about 10 days before the June 18 minutes were to be released.
Now that the Quebec election is over and the new cabinet named, they should be in a position to make the permit decision. So if comex did approve the report on July 26, I think we will get a permit decision within the next two weeks. We do know that CRE was on the agenda for the September 20 meeting, so it is possible that the report was not approved on July 26. It is also possible that it went back to the drawing board and was re-presented on September 20 for another shot at approval.
Regardless, we should learn something when we see the next comex minutes in two weeks, unless of course Comex decides to withhold them pending the decision. If comex did not make a recommendation on July 26 or September 20, then it should be obvious that they are intentionally delaying the project or simply trying to break the company. In my opinion, if we do not see a permit within the next 2 to 4 months then I don't think we ever will. I do believe that we will see the permit soon, after all we have the federal permit, the provincial government has approved our reclamation plan, we've given the Cree Nation one million dollars, and comex/provincial government have strung us along for such an ungodly amount of time that I can't imagine how they would have the audacity to not permit the company. I know most of us here have all this figured out already but I just thought I would restate it for my own sanity and the benefit of anyone new.
