Short Sell Report Jan 1-15 2023

Surprised lol but the short sellers actually increased their positions!!! Assuming due to the increased volume so they still try and keep it close to 20% of the daily volume:
Short traded: 1,290,100
% Total Traded Volume: 17

The game is still on for this one

I hope the pigs get slaughtered-............................ This is the abysmal language of those who get in a game and expect to be king of the Castle without understanding the game* the way the current politicol usurpers of today want "All for them and nothing for the HOI POLOI. (The Progressives circa 1800's latched onto Malthusian economics to justify "thinning out the ...more

Point well delivered, however, there is something inherently wrong with a system that permits one to sell something that one does not actually own. I wonder if that works in the real estate market? Or even a supermarket?

Wheeler Shorting is a dangerous game. I takes a capable pro to know that gameI But lots of investors buy and sell short term and with a stock like CRE that game has been very predictable and profitable for those who do it. I assume that those who have large positions in this stock are in the market for the long term. I thought "Naked" short selling had been curtailed in the Canadian ...more

IIROC's new position on naked shorting is that one must have a "reasonable expectation that they will have access to sufficient securities to settle" when they enter a short position without actually owning the shares. So what constitutes "reasonable expectation?" I doubt anyone knows that yet, I suspect it is up to the courts to decide if and when it comes to that. So in ...more

Hey wheeler, I am not saying that I like it, but as I grow older (and wiser?) I put less emphasis on things I cannot control. "Go with the flow" is easier for my sanity. As for "reasonable expectation" it has to do with what the brokerage houses accord as a margin to their high rollers.

My take on this is that short selling is just another way of gambling for the more "savvy" investors. And even then it is far from a sure win. So even if you do not own the share that you are selling, you are putting up a sort of bond saying that you are good for it. If the shorts are still around and a partner deal is signed, they can get caught in a short squeeze and loose alot ...more

Hi tinker, We will still have the drilling news, I expect this week or next week (just my guess, no inside info). The financing/partner/jv may take longer, I am good with the end of February, just prior to PDAC. tiger

If we are to follow the the 8th capital report, the second paragraph says CRE is to start drilling soon. It doesn't say has started. The first sentence says CRE held investors event on Jan 11th so probably that's a pretty recent update. So as I mentioned before, I think we are going to wait few more months before any financial news. CRE management brought few times the life of the mine ...more

I think you are right about the drilling monkeyhere. However, the link you make between drilling results and financing is your interpretation. Significative drilling results ending in a proven ressource might be available only end of second quarter. Financing is happening in the first quarter in order to start construction in the "good" season.

Time will show how management will perform! My assumptions are based on what thry have done so far which is never meeting their goals. Remember the drillings plans were announced in the Nov 2021 raise too but prep work started after the permit. Seems they were not confident enough that they will get it?  Also, I'm curious to see how Galaxy will interact with COMEX! How long will take ...more

Hey Sam, thank you for your wishes of "good luck"... however this coming from an ivory tower intellectual such as your self means something untoward. I do not expect to be "King of the Castle" I do expect when in this arena to play by a set of rules, the same rules for all, no? Obviously my "abysmal" language has offended you somehow, perhaps you don't spend any ...more

Justification!- We all do it at one time or another so Retail Therapy you can justify your "crass" assumptions/comments if yoiu wish but you showed your colors in your initial post and you reiterated them by your response. Your evaluation of me was way off the mark. For your info I am 86 years old and happily alive!  I grew up in Canada in a very poor working class family back when ...more
