With only one large institutional owner, and only 28% (?) actually public, any frustrated sell moves by joe retail will have a more dramatic effect on the stock price. As well, the odds of getting a large position taken by a third party would be muted as they would worry about Brookfield selling their interest at unfavorable prices. Essentially, too much power in too few hands.
As small fry, I take heart in that as a year ago, this stock was trading at these levels, under the same ownership conditions, and all it did was go up. It's a nice little divvy, and I think it's relatively safe as most of the money going out goes to insiders. If a cut were to occur, I'm pretty sure there would be a viable reason for it.
Market conditions notwithstanding, this is truly a management story...period. We will ride their coat tails up or down.
