china is 30 per cent of global production and they are banning exports until June 22. Don't you think this sends a message to the market. I have read this action is to punish Australia. A stable new of supply seems to make sense

We're talking about phosphate here. And of course yes.. this supply/demand dynamic, opening/closing facilities, exists for all commodities at different levels.

sorry I do not; understand your point. My point is fertilizer companies need phosphate to sell fertilizer. They need to secure their supply chain as everyone is now learning the hard way. Companies must be assured supply or else they cannot sell product.

Well, Potash Corp is a company that ceased its operations in December of 2017 and that is now part of Nutrien. Nutrien own phosphate mines and phosphate transformation facilities in the US if that is what you mean. None in Canada AFAIK. They stopped sourcing raw phosphate from Morocco at the end of 2018. They also source elsewhere oversee. Nutrien US mining operations relies on ugly and ...more

hi It might not seem like it 2018 is not 2022. Potash supply has tightened and the price has soared. Mosaic has a limited supply of phosphate and had a decrease in volume but higher sales. The industry is making money and the world had changed.
