Dia Bras Accelerates Advanced Development at CUSI
7/15/2010 10:30:25 AM - Market Wire

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Jul 15, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --
Dia Bras Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:DIB) is pleased to report that advanced development at its Cusi silver project is being accelerated, with expanded drilling at the Promontorio mine and new drilling at the San Juan mine leading to mine planning. Both mines are being prepared for pilot-mining during early 2011 and drilling continues to yield high grades of silver from them. Production from the Santa Eduwiges mine is increasing month-by-month.

"These results are very encouraging," states Daniel Tellechea, President and CEO of Dia Bras. "We expect to mine from three mines simultaneously next year and therefore increase the amount of rock processed at our Malpaso Mill, which is only 36 km by good road from these mines. The high grades of silver encountered in each mine area indicate that our potential silver production over the next few years will increase significantly, especially when the other mines in the property are developed and mining commences."

Locations of drill holes reported here are for the Promontorio (https://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/PR-julio-El_Gallo_DDH.pdf) , Santa Eduwiges (https://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/PR-julio-San_Antonio_DDH.pdf) , and San Juan (https://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/PR-julio-San_Juan_DDH.pdf) areas. Results from the three areas are shown in the tables below:

San Juan Area

Production from Cusi as pilot-mining is expected to increase significantly with mining of the San Juan vein because of the width of the mineralized structure as exemplified by the intersection close to the level 2, where the vein has three components: hanging wall section, 2.24m @ 655 Ag g/t; middle section, 3.37m @ 177 Ag g/t; and foot wall section, 3.37 m @ 90 Ag g/t. These sections form a combined shoot of 8.98 metres true width, with an average grade of 264 Ag g/t (see the cross section along the vein: https://www.diabras.com/en/newscenter/2010/PR-julio-San_Juan_Transversal.pdf).

Advanced Development

As recently reported in the Company's News Release No. 24, on July 14, 2010, Cusi is under development with the intention of placing it into pilot-mining. Development activities are underway in Santa Eduwiges and Promontorio mines, while the Company is drilling at San Juan to move it to development and pilot-mining as well. Drilling that guided mine development at Santa Eduwiges during the first six months of 2010 has been successful, given that the Company's Malpaso Mill processed 12,267 tonnes of rock averaging 297 g/t silver and 0.65% lead - a significant improvement over the same period of 2009.

Method of Analysis

Samples were prepared at the ALS Chemex lab facility in Chihuahua, Mexico, and analyzed by ICP and AA methods at their facilities in Vancouver, Canada. Diamond drill samples sent for analysis consisted of half NQ-size and BQ-size diamond core split on site, prepared by the ALS Chemex sample preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, and assayed for Au by 50 g fire assay with AA finish, and for Ag by AA on 50 g split sample at the ALS Chemex North Vancouver Laboratory. Assays for Pb, Zn and Cu are done by Induction Coupled Plasma (ICP) at ALS Chemex.

Quality Control

The quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) of Dia Bras has been described in detail in both RPA's NI 43-101 reports of December 2006 at Cusi and October 2005 for Bolivar.

The technical content of this news release has been approved by Thomas L. Robyn, Ph.D., CPG, RPG, a Director of Dia Bras and a Qualified Person as defined in NI 43-101.
