Great news to be sure, but remember that it took Health Canada 10 months to approve the Spartan rapid test... the powers that be are against rapid testing it seems.

Hopefully the Saudis are a little more aggressive when it comes to approval. It would also be good to know who else is distributing in the US - the test is approved there so that could be huge.

I don't think that this approval will last 10 month because of the extreme situation.  This will go much faster imo. But the distribution will be huge.

Health Canada has no clue as to what the word fast means ! They should be working 24 7 but with these guys never any urgency.

I think HC approval will be alot faster given the fact that public health and medical officers across Canada are pushing for saliva tests for elementary students. They want to test younger children regularly and they don't want to use nasal swabs. We have some political pressure for use of saliva tests. Given that DM's saliva test has already been approved by FDA, EUA, and UK and it should

I hope you are right but not allot of faith in HC or our government to act fast. Seems like the rapid test proven in S Korea that was submitted last April to HC is still waiting with no explanation. Our government is failing us IMO

  i guess that's kind of my point... 10 months ago the situation was arguably MORE extreme and they pulled the Spartan test off the market, only to approve it 10 months later.  I hope I'm wrong for a lot of reasons but I'm not holding my breath for the Canadian market.
