...I like it... Similar structure to towing memberships..  Also like that they only give you enough charge to get you 50 km... which is enough to get you to a grid charging station... that ensures the vehicle is at one call for a short amount of time and also ensures the power on board is not fully drained by one call... they will have considered how many cars the van can charge for 50 km ...more

The DMEVS "charging membership" information is great. To me it looks like fair pricing and a good set of rules. However, if I read it correctly they list the monthly cost but then ask for a lump sum yearly payment. What's with that? Everybody wants to stretch payments out and a lump sum requirement will make it less attractive. Finally, it might just be me but when you read the ...more

Stout observations. We shall see if the new DMEVS President is worth their weight and effect some positive change in due time.

Lump sum stops people from only activating the service when they do become stranded and cancelling the service immediately afterwards. Basically getting a charge for $15. Or so I would imagine. Shows that a risk analysis of a sort was done. Think the pricing is well organized.

Intresting observation you pointed out on the lump sum payment. It will be wise to spread those payments maybe three times an year to attract more clients.

Considering only the foolish will run out of juice (I haven't run out of gas ever) the 1 time feature will be used most is my guess, starts at as low as 100 bucks then pay by km.......this is a very very long venture to make any real money and hundreds of trucks will be needed......thus the 8 cents......service starts in 2023....we won't see anything until Q2 at the end of August, the end ...more

Seems to me that Swyint is correct. Like Swyint I have never run out of gas nor electricity for my EV. They have to get a car company to sign on or maybe CAA for all their EV clients. Since maybe 1% of EV drivers will run out of juice once per year DM would only need to collect a small amount per month from everyone to ensure they were covered for the 1% chance it might be them who runs out. The ...more

Yes Mark these vans are really not the way to go. Just googled electric cars in all of BC, 80,000 in 2021 were registered.....lets say 50,000 of them (to be generous) are in the lower mainland area. If 10,000 of these cars signed for the most expensive monthly package or 300 per year fee that is only 3 million in gross revs. Getting 20% of the approx 50,000 available vehicles in the lower ...more

From where i stand investing in vans is not a good idea.Datametrex should focus on installing as many level 3 smart chargers across B.C rather than try play "range anxiety" hero purchasing multiple vans.

Given the breadth of EV knowledge demonstrated by a handful of experts on this board, some of you may want to gang up and launch a profitable EV charging business.          On another note, some who may not have logged into yesterday's Discord, may want to take the time to listen in on the recording, which turns out to be informative in many ways, including on the ...more

I agree. I also do not like the concept of the EV roadside charging truck. This asset will just burn money. DM should stick to the stationery chargers and charger cart for now

To be fair we don't know the details of the partnership. While the trucks may not be the most lucrative aspect of the product line, it may be in the fine print that DM has to offer all products in order to be an EVAR distributor.

As far as the mobile units are concerned, there may be a great advertising effect in play. Consider that these vehicles will be migrating through traffic and with that the name becomes very visible with constant public exposure. When the name becomes familiar perhaps that's the product the consumer will use. Brand recognition, land and expand..something think about...

It is a good way to advertise with good branding on the vans put their services out there but we need more to get the reach needed at this point.

Sorry for being so crass, however, anything that Tucker Carlson says should be taken with just one grain of salt... He is not a news reporter… More like a tabloid with a microphone… for the love of a dog, don't rely on sources such as Fox News for your due diligence… Happy holidays to all…

They could make more money if they get to target outside metro area but I agree  on the most money is on the stationary units. If they can get those running we might see a clear pic in Q2 .
