Up on low volume

Up on low volumeArtemus, you offered that you  thought this might be a sucker's rally and said:

"up 5% on 40,000 + shares? $17,000 worth of stock representing .03% of the shares?? Any bets folks?"

Asking the right question is more important than the answer.  (After all, if you have the wrong question, the answer doesn't matter.)  What if someone just thinks this price is a steal and doesn't give a rip what the stock does in the short term?  What if that someone (or those someones) believes that yes, the price could drift lower, but the general range of these prices will not be seen again?

What if the reason it went up 5% on low volume is that the sellers have exhausted themselves and that meaningful volume will launch SWN to the moon?  What if that's the right question?

BTW, it wasn't 40,000 shares, it was 50,000.
