(SWN-TSXV;C$0.185) reported an updated resource
estimate from its Selwyn zinc-lead project
in the Yukon. Based on the results of drilling
so far, the project has an indicated resource
of 18 billion pounds of zinc and 6
billion pounds of lead plus an inferred
resource of 23 billion pounds of zinc and 7
billion pounds of lead. That massive deposit
is among the largest in the world.
Last year’s 40,000 meter drilling program
was among the most extensive exploration
programs in Canada. The company is now
looking for a partner to continue to
advance that massive project. There are
few deposits anywhere in the world of that
magnitude, large enough for even the
biggest of the mining company majors.
The current share price doesn’t come close
to recognizing the enormous long term
value of the deposit and the further
exploration potential of the district-scale
property held by Selwyn.
