Watkin's ego to reach the top of the food chain at Epic Data over-shadowed better judgement. The decline started when they began to acquire worthless companies with nothing to offer. Real Data Systems, Connectware, etc. RDS was a drain from day one. Mickey Mouse technology, lots of overhead, no revenues. Connectware had a number of botched installations that had to be corrected to keep Epic Data out of court. I understand they have a great automated traffic ticketing system. But it's hard to sustain a company on municipal contracts in smaller cities. I've tried very hard to justify additional investment at the price over the last 2 years. There's just no light at the end of the tunnel for this once proud company. Unfortunately it's just an ever darkening abyss.
