AngloGold Ashanti Limited : AngloGold Says Buyers For Namibia Mine Down to Three
11/06/2013 | 02:31am US/EasternRecommend:
JOHANNESBURG--South Africa-based gold miner AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (ANG.JO) said Wednesday it has narrowed down buyers for its Namibia mine as part of a company restructuring.

In April, the company said it would put the Navachab mine on the market as AngloGold reduces costs and streamlines operations. AngloGold said Navachab isn't "viewed as a core asset."

Chief Executive Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan said Wednesday that AngloGold wants to close the sale "sometime soon." He declined to provide details on the three interested parties that have been selected for final discussions.

In 2012, the mine produced 74,000 troy ounces of gold.
