Seriously, there are so ways to negotiate that. For example, India puts their payment for the potash in trust so the producer knows that the money is available when the potash is delivered. Then, he gives credit terms that cover the necessary time frame. The producer wants to get in on the 7 million tons for 20 years. Such arrangements are common place.

Encanto is not buying the potash and reselling it. They are brokering a deal between a producer who wants to sell the potash and a buyer who has a contract with Encanto. Encanto earns a percentage commission for owning the India potash contract.
