Adding Shareholder Value Century Chinese Style Century recently announced plans to diversify. Their recent move seems harmless but is far from impressive. Century followed up on its diversification plans by disclosing a plan to increase shareholder value.
See Exerpt from today's Century press release.
In the recently published MD&A attached to its second quarter results, the company announced its new strategic direction to increase shareholder value. Century intends to broaden its public and institutional shareholder base in China through a new trading platform, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect linking two of the world's most important stock exchanges, which officially opened on November 17, 2014.
This strategy seems like a variation of the if you can't lick em, join theory. Lick em in this case would be actually profitably mining iron ore.
Why did'nt Century wait to increase the share holder exposure until if possible they had some genuinely good news? What are the disclosure requirments on the Hong Kong exchanges? A lot of Chinamin have interests in Century. Will this move my Century facilitate the disposition by insider Chinamin thru the Hong Kongy style exchanges?
