RE: CNN: Graphene's Massive Future
About Us
The Graphene Stakeholders Association (GSA) was founded in the U.S. as a (501(c)6 non-profit) non-profit organization in 2013 to help promote the responsible development of graphene-based products. Graphene is emerging as one of the most promising materials ever discovered – one that has the potential to play a vital role in the development of advanced technologies in key industry segments, including computing, electronics, energy, defense, health care, telecommunications, and transportation. The GSA was created to foster graphene-based education, technical collaboration, scientific exchange, and value and job creation through successful commercialization. It is envisioned that GSA members will be part of a premier network that joins all major graphene stakeholders – researchers, government agencies, producer and user companies.

Growth Ahead for Graphene
Since its discovery, graphene has grown central to much of the research into nanotechnology, due to the unusual electrical, magnetic, and other properties that it possess.
The aggregate graphene market project to grow from a base of $9 million in 2012 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40% to $126 million in 2020. (Lux Research)
Our Focus
To promote the responsible development of graphene products by supporting standards activities and fostering education.
To develop standard definitions, standard metrology and HSE standards with international, national and industry-based standards organizations through collaboration.
To facilitate commercialization activities through networking and partnerships.
To monitor progress and develop action plans through regular web conferences and meetings.
To communicate the benefits and progress of the industry as a whole to public and private thought leaders and influencers including, where appropriate, governmental agencies and regulatory bodies.
