RE: A340's that is NOT true, but if it was,ETOPS Extended twin operations rules would apply which would require a diversion airport within a certain amount of flying time ie 180 mminutes or 120 minutes depending on the engines installed. There may be no suitable airports on the route in question over the north pole or Russia. One would have to dig out the charts to see. There is no doubt that Angus Kinnear is the most hands on President of all the airlines in Canada. Last I knew he lived right at the airport and spent 16 hours a day micromanaging this airline. I am not sure how much bigger it can get and still be suitable to his management style. Their biggest future threat will be their success with employees wanting a bigger piece of the pie if they see profits materialise. Good luck. I am neither long nor short on this airline or any other at the moment.
