I agree with your questioning on your last post, but I think you have the analogy wrong. IMO, you have been coaxed out in front of a Prius and have been run over, breaking your trust and bruising your faith (your naivety is still in tact), but you are still alive. They have stopped, have put the car in reverse and are revving the engine. Try and crawl out of the way (vote no). If they manage to hit you backing up, THEN you might wake up in the drivers seat, bruised and dazed. They'll of course put sand in the tank, trashed the engine and took the keys by then.
