the world needs this process to workrare earths are a really dirty business and the only one willing to produce them are ofcourse the Chinese but even they are trying to change their policies due to environment reasons. The average consumer does not know how dirty green tech or all tech for that matter really is. It would be a huge advancement for the world if GMA is succesful. We are in the information age and the demand for rare earths will only go up.
