repostThat last post got screwed up when I cut and pasted to reorganize. I don't know why that happens with stockhouse posts. Here is a re-edit hope it works this time :

Good to hear your hanging tight Happy Hiker.

I agree withyou on the point that there will continue to be a strong demand forpetroleum and fuels even when other commodities decline in demand. Theworld needs a steady supply of food and fuel. You can't eat gold. Oil isthe true benchmark in our era. I see oil headed a lot higher relativelysoon.

I realize it's a very complex crises that we are dealingwith and things are a bit hard to call. But one thing I have learnedfrom a history of free market capitalism is that wealth is never lost...only transferred. We have witnessed a huge shakeout of the worldmarkets - perhaps the biggest in history. This has created sometremendous opportunities for those with the right insights and thefinancial power to snap up bargains. Fear has become the tool of choiceamong the powerful since it is highly effective on the masses. I thinkthere may have been some fanning of the flames going on. In the bigpicture, it feels to me like this is a big step in the process ofglobalization and the consolidating of huge banking institutions.Already these have become the most powerful force globally well beyondthe power of national governments. These international bankinginstitutions have managed in effect to tax every citizen in the unitedstates ( in particular) through government bailouts and other crisesmanagement "remedies". ....Sorry I digress ....don't get me started.

The steps taken to relieve the crises- in particular thebanning of short selling financial stocks - has produced an unfortunateside effect which has greatly impacted the stock .
Inorder to cover positions in weakening financial stocksinstitutional investment companies have been forced to sell commoditystocks, inadvertently driving down many stock values and adding to thefear and panic that were already rampant. Canadian Venture stocks havebeen particularly hard hit. We took our hit with GNZ before the main hiton the market in general and went into a cease trade on late financial filings. I believe that it willbe difficult for the highly speculative stocks with no provenresources or plan of finance to recover their stock values in the shortterm. For a company to grow in this climate it needs to have provenresources and a sound plan to develop projects. I see Goldnev as beingin a solid position relative to many Venture listed companies, especially at the low stock price just before the halt.

Therewill still be major changes and adjustments unfolding soon. How muchlonger can the US dollar maintain it's grossly overvalued andartificial position? I believe the actual value of the US dollar hasrecenly been pegged at around .04 cents. Something's gotta give. I amgrateful that Canada is in a relatively sound position. It's marketsshould become atractive to international investors looking for arelatively solid place to invest money.

Exiting times! Always opportunities if you don't succumb to fear and bail at a loss.

Pendragon.
