 Your friend doesn't make sense.

 We waited 4-5 months for the drilling permit, and
it finally came through. That was the biggest hurdle.

 Now that we are only days away from the drilling program,
this is no time to be selling out ones' entire position.

 GQ could be your friends' proverbial "The one that got away".
or in this case  "Catch and release" might be more appropriate.

 Keep your heart pills handy..........I think were in for an exciting ride.
