Montalva Update

Montalva Update
All,

I understand that The Natural Resources Committee of Congress has received persuasive

information and data from numerous stakeholders in Puerto Rico challenging the accuracy of the

FOMBs December 21, 2020 response to the Committee's December 7, 2020 letter. Thus, the

Committee intends to further inquire into the real motivations and processes that led to the FOMBs

unilateral and questionable decision limiting the shovel ready solar energy PPOAs already

approved by PREPA, PREB, and the Government of Puerto Rico to just 150 MW of generation.

I further understand it is the Committee’s view that the FOMB has, once again, overstepped its

legal boundaries as set forth in PROMESA, and continues to micromanage and do away with

sound policy decisions by the Government of Puerto Rico to the detriment of the island’s citizens.

I believe the Committee will send a letter to the FOMB prior to this Friday meeting strongly voicing

its opposition to limiting the approval to 150MW.
