FINAL NOTES ON PREPA MEETING - DECEMBER 16, 2020

FINAL NOTES ON PREPA MEETING - DECEMBER 16, 2020
Board just finished discussion on status of PPOAs. As anticipated, Fernando Padilla reported that they are on the final stages of completing what will be a very comprehensive report on the 150 MW. He said this had proven to be "a lot more challenging than expected" because of legal and regulatory considerations. Also said they intend to move forward with the new RFP for renewables (not just solar) in Jan, but now for 1000 MW instead of the planned 450. They will also do 500 MW of storage. The issue of the FOMB meeting later this week was brought up and it is evident that the expectation is that they will increase the 150. PREPA stands by their recommendation of the 16 projects as they believe all were in compliance, but feels it doesn't have any option but to comply with the FOMB requirements. That being said, they would welcome an FOMB revision on the 150 and would be ready to act
immediately if that happened. Fernando promised that the final report on the 150 would be submitted to the prepa board before the end of the year. It is obvious they are waiting to see if the FOMB will approve additional generation and what the guidelines for that would be. No major surprises today...

BEST
