I don't find it unusual that they announced the "auditor and process", just that they did so after the announcement of the potential acquisition. It probably would've been more the norm had they announced the two together. I agree that with the sentiment toward "China stocks" being what it is that this is designed to ensure transparency and objectivity in the process.
Regardless, the company is clearly undervalued at these levels, and that should be proven further on Thursday when Q2 numbers are released. It could prove to be an effective catalyst to advance the sp to more reasonable levels.
