Victorio

Just returned from Tucson to watch some spring baseball.  Made a quick trip to Victorio to see the property.  Galway has a drill rig on site drilling!  Driller said they have been there since the first of the year.  Strange that management would keep this from the stockholders.

Very useful information and you would have thought that they would have announced same. We now have drilling activity on three fronts which is all good.  Patience is required before the reward!

Perhaps the reason they did not announce was because they did not want to diffuse the short term message (maxmimize shareholder value by selling Cali) - Victorio would have a time frame longer than that.

Hey Aus,  thanks for the great info regarding Victorio.  One would think that if they're going to sell California, then they are best to keep Victorio and Vetas close to your chest until that is finalized.  As oldtimer mentioned, we don't want those two assets to get lumped into the deal as a parting gift.    The question we need to ask  ...more

Great posts folks. Shiff threw it out there what the value of Vetas, Galca and Victorio would be after a Cali spinoff. In truth I have no idea, but my guess would be about what the SP is right now, particularly as momentum for the Vetas 43-101 builds. Surely the resource estimate will not be less than 1 million ounces.   Regarding Victorio Auseeker, they have already lodged the Scoping Study ...more

Great post Schiff! I`ll add my two cents and thoughts.   I`m no major in tungsten whatsoever so I`ll be super conservative and give their Victorio project a valuation of 0 M so we`re working just with gold projects.    I feel we can fairly compare Ventana and Galway in terms of how much each oz should be worth as one of Galway`s properties sits just a kilometre to the southwest of ...more

What I don't understand is that some guy called ACE223 comes on the board out of nowhere and suggests the company is about to be sold for just over $5 and everybody picks up on it as though it is a valid statement. He has been a SH member for just about 2 years and has 28 posts to his credit (according to his profile). He is now posting on GWY and CBJ re the value here and the possible sale ...more

I like your rationale taylor.   Just for the record, I am being conservative with my 1.5 million ounces, and I think if there is an offer it will come in around $200/ounce.  The usual song and dance will happen, GWY will appoint an independent party to look at the offer, the independent party will say it's unfair, GWY will reject it, and then Eike will sweeten the pot.  ...more

As I agree with you Pandora on this guy's credibility it doesn't really matter. We will be bought out at some point. I have been buying shares under 1.35$ and I know it will go up to 1.80 or so again as It usually does. The hard decision is do you sell then or wait (games they play)

I agree that this $5 "rumoured buy-out" is completely random and obviously not based on facts or reliable sources.  I do like the fact that it kick started a conversation on buyout scenarios and different valuations.   The Raymond James estimte of $2.50 is conservative as they have to rely on limited information to calculate ounces in the ground and this can vary wildly ...more
