RE: any idea when we will hear hc approval ??

RE: any idea when we will hear hc approval ??Thanks for the link. It appears like an area where you can find research data. My experience was highly memorable....I sent e-mails, letters and left phone messages for over a year before I got a written response. My first contact was by e-mail and I got a form letter back asking for my postal address as there could be no response by e-mail. It was provided and it apparently went into a black hole. A doctor (finally!) gave me the name and phone number of a HC offical who was sympathetic to my issue. I made a regular nuisance of myself to the extent that David Dodge (then Deputy Minister and now governor of the BOC) and Alan rock both knew my name and were actively avoiding contact. The issue was a political hot potato and that was when I learned just how much our elected officals choose re-election over the needs of its citizens. The defining moment of my year plus campaign for a simple answer came when I asked an office administrator, who saw Alan Rock day to day, to copy down my message and hand deliver it to Rock. His response floored me, "I can't," he said. When I asked why not, he said, "I'm not allowed to talk to the Minister." I, of course, was infuriated that a politician had assumed the mantle of power to the extent that he took for himself the divine right of kings. I dashed off a pretty heated note to the minister at that point though I don't know if he ever got it. I finally gave up as I was just worn out from the battle. I have to say that the doctors and medical advisors who work at HC were very good to me but they were powerless to get the minister to budge. Their recommendations, submitted to Rock several times, supported my view, and they based it on science. They were the people who told me that the first need of a politician is to cover his/her a$$. Good science and public need are secondary. thanks for listening to my rant...that's pretty canadian, eh?
