A devils advocate usually postulates on a side of the issue that many of us see unfavorably. But those negative views can balance perspectives that can be overly distorted or one-sided. So in essense he is providing a counter view to our own in order to make us more wary of our viewpoint. On the other hand he or she could be spewing disinformation (like the Ruskees hackers do) to weaken our resolve in Hive and capitulate by selling our position. That course of action is pretty vile. I just usually dismiss his opinions and think myself lucky to a least to be in a political state allowing free speech. mpke
