RE:B.C. no more gas vehicles by 2040
I notice they make no mention whatever of how they will replace the lost revenue from the highway tax on gas purchases -- or do EV's not require highways to be repaired, maintained etc.
Also no mention of the requirement to rebuild our 25KV electrical grid before the whole province can convert to EV's -- that's a substantial tax payer cost.
And it's always nice to see how much tax payer money they are giving away in subsidies -- and for what?
Is there something actually wrong with the air we are breathing these days (it's far, far better than it was 60 years ago when we switched away from coal, wood and sawdust burners and converted to natural gas) -- or is the bulk of that problem actually in China, who still has a significant plan to build many more coal plants over the next 30 years - while we are doing something that will have virtually no effect on anything, whether measured on a national basis or particularly from a world basis. 1.6% reduced to 1.5% -- at what cost to the individual? I may be old but the lack of common sense and logic just amazes me -- but that is not uncommon of my observations of life these days. Just look around.
Luckily I am old enough that I will not have to put up with it but it bothers me of the stupidity that will effect my grandkids. Nuff said.
