Anyone else makes Si nanoparticles

Someone asked if any one makes Si nanoparticles.
Does no take long to find. They are located about 1 hour east of Montreal:

EXCEPTIONAL CAPACITY FOR EnergY STORAGE

Our silicon nanopowder has a controlled nanoscale size and high purity level. These properties provide an impressive capacity of electric charge.

The Tekna silicon nanopowders can revolutionize forthcoming generations of Lithium-ion batteries.

Tekna was acquired by a Norvegian company about 1 year ago. They produce mostly metal powders for AM.

They do not publish their financial data. Private outfit. Located in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  with 2 Branches/offices in France.
They might have NR that could be copied and pasted.
This may answer at least some of the questions.or hit TEKNA.COM
Bernard knows of them .Certainly more than I do.

Do your homework and stop with your sh it with Tekna :  Copy paste of an answer in pyr board by Atomic1. I cant do better. Thanks Atomic1.  This has been adressed numerous times, and every long should know that the game changing advantage of Purevap is the possibility to turn quartz into 4N silicon in one step. As good as Tekna powders can be, they have to buy their supplies of Silicon ...more

Bernard has stated there are many companies working on Si nano powders but Hpq are the only public company and Hpq can do it cheaper than anyone else.

You are right TEKNA do things differently. They are not a public company but the company that owns them is public.. Tekna is a smaller group compared to the PYR / HPQ conglomerate.

Since Apollon holds this patent:  Process for manufacturing silicon-based nanoparticles from metallurgical-grade silicon or refined metallurgical-grade silicon Patent number: 9352969 Abstract: A process for manufacturing silicon-based nanoparticles by electrochemical etching of a substrate, wherein the substrate is a metallurgical-grade or ...more

Apollon has the process to clean the metallurgical grade silicon of impurities and output a 4N quality Si metal initially to manufacture PV panel . Now the question is that the Si nanoparticles that are needed to manufacture anodes are not necessarily 4N ; it could be 3N. and if that is the case, then HPQ would have a fabulous cost advantage. IF IF We have always talked 4N for PV production ...more

No the patent description says Process for manufacturing Silicon based nano particles from metallurgical grade silicon or refined metallurgical grade silicon. It doesn't say for use in PV panel. Hpq is the only company that can make metallurgical grade silicon from a lower grade in one step.

You summed it up perfectly Welderkev1, HPQ Silicon is the only company that can make metallurgical grade silicon from a lower grade in one step. And come December HPQ Silicon will be producing and distributing their nano Silicon powders and nano Silicon wires. Exciting times! Long and Strong in HPQ Silicon!
