i dont think anyone has nearly enough data to speculate on a price.  A business plan would have to be created that was backed up with numbers, projections, cost analysis, and future revenue.   Bernard may have already done this and only the ones signing the NDA get to see it.  One thing is for sure.  You and I are not privy to that information. I have rough range idea what I would be happy with but won't post publicly.   Definitely will expect obscene money for buyout for golden goose disruptive tech that can literally change and impact the world.  Especially if numerous multi billion dollar conglomerates are vying in multi bid offer process.  Whoever buys would have clear competitive advantage and can even licence or

Looks like they have been given an allowance or have asked for an allowance but the detail of the statement was not provided (usually it would be) so I cannot verify. Main thing is, it is moving. More time required still. And, not sure if this is the patent you are referring to. It is the only one listed in HPQ's name - that I can come up with.

Thanks Pandora..was just about to look that up.  Yes patent lawyers I chat with assure me the back and forth is all part of the process and strategy.  Pyrogenesis CEO stated their track record for over 100 + patents is stellar.  Long and strong HPQ

The patent process continues to move right along. The "Notice of Allowance" has now been mailed out: 15/750,331 SILICA TO HIGH PURITY SILICON PRODUCTION PROCESS P3409US01

This notice of allowance basically tells the company that the process is allowed to be issued as a patent but the patent and patent number will not be issued until the Company pays the $600 fee. The company has 90 days in which to do this. I would think they will expedite the payment and get the process finalized.
