Great post about silicon industry bodes well for HPQ

@cargoThis is very interesting report below written by Natia Vinck, who has worked for Euroalliages since 2006.
It seem like the metalurgical grade silicon industry which still relies on 100+ year old technology, is going to have a uphill battle moving forward with the Fit for 55 Package coming into effect. EU ETS, CBAM, indirect and direct carbon emissions reporting and The EU Forest Strategy 2030 will put even more pressure on the industry.

Could not be a better time IMO for $HPQ to be presenting its patented Purevap process in Europe:)

Also as Bernard predicted...Purevap QRR reactor will be disruptive in massive industry that still uses dirty methods to produce silicon for over 130 years.   Really incredible.  Long and strong HPQ!!!
Comment by dalesio_98 on Sep 09, 2023 4:16pm
Industry is very slow to adopt changes or disruptive changes. Case in point, the aluminum industry is still utilizing the over 125 year old Bayer process which produces over 120 million tons of toxic red mud annually! There is over 4 billion tons stored worldwide. Good luck to all!
Comment by dalesio_98 on Sep 09, 2023 4:18pm
The Bayer process was invented in 1888 by Carl Josef Bayer.
Comment by developbc on Sep 09, 2023 4:20pm
Mainly because there isn't a cost effective and green alternative.  Purevap QRR reactor is not only lower capex and opex - it is scalable in smaller batches without a need of a smelter to be approved by govt bodies  (nearly impossible with GHG emissions in today's world)  Long and strong HPQ!!!!

Funny how I am respectful to SH members, correctly spelling their pseudonyms. Some disparage others incessantly when same opinion isn't shared.

Typical useless response by thinkbigsti69.

Fighting disinformation and FUD is always useful.

Orbite Technologies had a green alternative but it was privatized through CCAA to the detriment of creditors and shareholders. The longest running CCAA that I am aware of or part of. Currently at 6.5 years without submitting a Plan of Restructuring, stay of proceedings to May 31, 2023. May 31st would take it to 8 years 1 month. Industry is slow to change, not speaking to HPQ technology pro or ...more

I am not that familiar with Orbite but I remember a friend was invested in them and they had massive tech issues with getting their plant going and declared bankruptcy.   Just looked up...Their assets were were aquired by AEM Advanced Energy Minerals.   Yes most fail at labscale and even trying to prove pilot as  tech barriers and stumbling block.  Purevap tech has ...more

I was one of those invested in Orbite and their "new" technology and it became just another one of my losers after all kinds of promises as to how amazing their tech was. Makes one a little anxious in watching HPQ. After buying into it in the 65 cent range a couple of years ago and now struggling to get out of the 35 cent range after spending a lot of time in the 20 cent range. Not ...more

Yes my friend was upset for sure but as he is very excited with HPQ as they are already producing samples and proving/validating the tech.  Pyrogenesis CEO stated they only participate in ventures that they are fully confident will not only commercialize but be successful.    VP of Corp Affairs Steve said in that NYC conference is on record that HPQ is something that has so much ...more

ANOTHER INVESTMENT RECOMMANDATION BY DEVELOPBC, BACKEDUP BY A QUOTE FROM STEVE (mtg for the long timers) shows the buddy system in place here. ORBITE was also a well manipulated title with final results imminent but suddenly a key ressource failed (no more$$) and they filed for chap 11 or equivalent (Right Dalesio ? , do you remember?). The pumping continues and yet the market is bringing ...more

Interesting company.   Wonder where they get their silicon from? Do they make it themselves?
Comment by developbc on Sep 10, 2023 12:09pm
Yes correct  indeed  Patience -  Altech would be a potential customer.  HPQ  are not vying to be a battery or battery anode manufacturer  but the supplier of silicon nano-powders and nanowires via Purevap NSiR reactor.   Long and strong HPQ!!

Just in case the FUDsters attempt to accuse me of making things up about the comment of PYR VP of Corporate Affairs Steve McCormick stated at the HC Wainwright Annual Conference in NYC when asked about the HPQ powder process..he answered "It's one of those things that could potetially unurp ALL the other divisions(of PYR)" Sadly the access on demand is no longer available BUT ...more

Thanks kaizerSoze for your detailed brief synopsis of the aluminum industry on their efforts to lower GHG emissions.   I distinctly remember your post awhile back that you actually work for RIO TINTO..so you must really know your stuff along with many you work with.    HPQ and PyroGenesis are definitely in the right place(S) at the right time.  Long and strong HPQ and ...more

Some great posts from @cargo: @cargo With the $HPQ team being a part of the EIT RawMaterials forum on October 11/23 in Germany, it is sure nice to see silicon being recognized not only in the in the solar industry but also in the EV battery space. https://eitrawmaterials.eu/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/FINAL-ERMA-Cluster-2-DIGITAL.pdf Based on the assumptions above in the not to distant ...more
