Our affiliate, Novacium SAS, has been granted the prestigious French Tech Emergence Grant of €90,000 (C$ 131,000) by the French Bank of Public Investments (BPI - Bpifrance).

This grant is a part of the French Government's strategic initiative to foster "deep tech" projects, especially in the startup ecosystem.

The achievement is a recognition of NOVACIUM's potential and a testament to our collective commitment to advancing battery technology.

The grant will propel NOVACIUM's project, which is focused on enhancing the entire value chain of SiOx-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Such materials are pivotal in elevating the efficiency and performance of these batteries, addressing the limitations of pure graphite anodes, and harnessing the potential of silicon.

What does this mean?

The industry is witnessing a significant shift in integrating SiOx-based additives into graphite composite electrodes. The advanced silicon-containing anode materials market, valued between US$1.1 billion and US$2.7 billion, is expected to surge, potentially reaching US$ 131.6 billion by 2033.

This trend underscores the growing necessity for innovative approaches in battery material development, an area where HPQ Silicon Inc. and NOVACIUM are at the forefront.
