HPQ Silicon Inc V.HPQ

Alternate Symbol(s):  HPQFF

HPQ Silicon Inc. (HPQ) is a Canada-based technology company specializing in green engineering of silica and silicon-based materials. The Company is engaged in developing, with the support of technology partners PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (PyroGenesis) and Novacium SAS, new green processes to make the critical materials needed to reach net zero emissions. Its activities are centered around the three pillars: becoming a green low-cost (Capex and Opex) manufacturer of Fumed Silica using the Fumed Silica Reactor, a proprietary technology owned by HPQ being developed for HPQ by PyroGenesis; becoming a producer of silicon-based anode materials for battery applications with the assistance of Novacium SAS, and Novacium SAS is engaged in developing a low carbon, chemical base on demand and high-pressure autonomous hydrogen production system. The Company operates in a single operating segment, segment, being the sector of the transformation of quartz into silicon materials and derivative products.

Hi Flyby,

At this stage, we do not anticipate any issue with making Kilo of Si.

What is so special about the 1-month mark?

In our last press release, we stated:

That PYR has informed HPQ that the commissioning phase of the program has been completed and that the PUREVAPTM Quartz Reduction Reactor (QRR) pilot plant is now functional.

And then we went on to say:

Budgeted at CDN$ 2,830,000 and lasting up to twelve (12) months, this final phase of the program will allow HPQ to validate and quantify the following PUREVAPTM QRR disruptive advantages identified during the previously completed Gen1 and Gen2 PUREVAPTM QRR testing phases:

a)    Produce silicon material of higher purity than any traditional processes in a single step,

b) That it can do so without the need for extremely pure feedstock required by conventional processes,

c)    That it only requires 4.5 MT of raw material to make 1 MT of Silicon versus the 6 MT required by conventional processes,

d)   That it does possess a significant cash cost advantage versus the lowest cost traditional Silicon producer2.

We did not specify when we expected to produce our first material, as it is very difficult when dealing with a new technology testbed like the QRR to anticipate with accuracy how long it will take for the QRR pilot plant to go from Functional to Operational.

We have our internal planning, and all that I can say is that the project is advancing as expected.

Regards

Bernard Tourillon
