It is difficult to compete with such a close neighbour to KYRGYZ who can pour in all sorts of cash.  One would hope that the Kyrg would not want to put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak.  I trust they will see the benefit of opening up to the West and that competition will benefit them in the end.  I'm not sure what the relations are between the old USSR countries and China, but in the past they haven't been built on trust, so we'll have to see how much things have changed over a generation or two.
