So
What exactly did all their promotional drilling get them? Not much, other than allowing big investors to exit. Alio was hot on the trail of possible new discoveries till they had to stop work on the decline. Is there Torex potential here? Why don't we know yet?

They wasted a year. I believe there was an agreement with funders of the Ana Paula acquisition to promo drill and pump so that they could exit with a big gain, but that put the decline on ice for more than a year.
