ManagementRecently there have been a number of calls for new management recorded on this forum. The primary responsibility for management decisions, in my opinion, rests with the Van Dyk brothers who founded IBR. This is a start-up company, established by a family of business and professional managers.
A good percentage of start-ups are founded by stock promoters. It is said that British Colombia is the only place in the world where a well-dressed individual in presenting himself provides a business card upon which, in bold letters, he designates himself as a stock promoter. Needless to say, most of the start-ups founded by stock promoters end up in disaster for the investors even though they are highly profitable for the promoters.
The Van Dyks, I believe, are being attacked because they prescribe to the old-fashioned notion that if management concentrates on building a business, the stock will follow. I can assure you that those who concentrate on building a stock market and ignore the underlying business are not around very long. My prediction is that IBR and the Van Dyks will be in British Colombia long after the stock-market promoter crowd has disappeared.
