SHAREHOLDERSMost of the crackpot accusations thrown out by the lunatic fringe on this forum are not worthy of comment. However, the persistent vilification of the Van Dyk brothers and the rest of their family are particularly galling to me personally. At one time of another, I have referred to the fact that I have done extensive investigative work in securities cases involving civil and criminal fraud (the Drexel Burnham case, being one). I have for many years, before investing in a start-up company, checked out the principals thoroughly. The Van Dykes were no exception. The reputations of the Van Dyk brothers I found to be stellar. There has never been a whisper of impropriety in respect to the conduct of these gentlemen in business. The conduct of this handful of bashers is very misplaced and in no sense reflects the overwhelming support the Van Dyk brothers command among IBR shareholders. The basher contingent is composed of a hard-core of perhaps three or four with about the same number of camp followers. The hard-core and their hanger-ons are compost promoters. It is necessary to understand that at the present time, compost promoters are held in less esteem than snake-oil sales representatives received in the early 19th century. Compost promoters or compost cons, as they are frequently called, have earned their unsavory reputation by swindling thousand of communities out of hundreds of millions by building plants that do not work and throw out a compost that does more harm than good. It is now illegal to distribute compost on farmland in Holland and I have no doubt others will or have followed their lead. The balance of the bashers can be best described as Salcon pimps. They pimp for Mr. Lim on the naive theory developed by Mr. Dixon that this shrewd, successful and ruthless individual will take care of them if they help him steal IBR from its shareholders. These fantasies fueled by either alcohol or ignorance are apparently enough to motivate them. Unbelievably, a few of these dupes are actually IBR shareholders.
