MEDIA ADVISORY: MAY 5, 2011 OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST ASHLEIGH MCIVOR TO APPEAR AT ISIGN MEDIA AND VANTAGEWIRE'S BLACKBERRY WORKSHOP AND MEDIA EVENT
iSign Media Solutions Inc. and Vancouver-based VantageWire, are introducing an innovative application of iSIGN's technology to deliver stock market quotes in real time to all Bluetooth enabled mobile devices and smart phones free of charge. iSign's interactive marketing solution, enables VantageWire to broadcast and interact with nearby mobile devices. Stock quotes for publicly traded companies are available to the public within ranges from three feet to 300 feet in proximity of VantageWire's downtown office. The result is free stock market quotes and interaction to interested parties and enables VantageWire to reach potential clients, as well as adding the potential for advertising revenue.
The public launch, taking place at VantageWires' offices at 150 -- 666 Burrard St., Vancouver, will also include a Blackberry workshop to help Blackberry users become more knowledgeable of how to receive and view stock market quotes using iSIGN's mobile messaging proximity technology. The event will feature a special appearance by Canada's Olympic gold medalist Ashleigh McIvor, who will be available for autographs and photos. iSign sponsored Ashleigh for the Olympics along with Canada's major sponsor Bell Canada and is proud to be a continuing sponsor.
- Currently, there are well over 70 million smart phone owners in North America (according to latest data from comScore);
- It is projected that over 50 per cent of all mobile phone will be smart phones by the end of 2011;
- Based on iSIGN's historic metrics for the past two years in downtown Vancouver, Blackberry is the most popular choice of smart phone with a 30-per-cent market share in North America and is often the smart phone of choice for business people and traders.
The surge in smart phone ownership in North America over the past few years demonstrates consumers' need to be connected at all times. Stock trading is no different than any other interaction; rather than being tied to a desktop or waiting for a call from their broker, today's investor wants to access stock quotes directly on their smart phone. Now the public, in proximity to VantageWire's office, will be able to receive free stock quotes, via iSIGN's IMS technology, which can also measure and report metrics on which stock quote is the most viewed by the public. This event is geared to launch VantageWire/iSign's service and to provide a tutorial to Blackberries users, allowing them to become more knowledgeable of how to use their devices more effectively and how to receive and view real-time stock market quotes.
