YANKEE HAT APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR ANDISSUES INCENTIVE STOCK OPTIONS
Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: KHT) ("Yankee Hat" or the"Company"), is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Scharfe as adirector to the Company. Mr. Scharfe has been a Managing Director ofMarsh Canada Limited since January 1994. He is also a director of TSXVenture Exchange listed issuers, Secova Metals Corp. and Volcanic MetalsCorp.
"We are very excited to have the addition of Mr. Scharfe to the board ofYankee Hat. We are undergoing a restructuring that we are confident Mr.Scharfe can be of great assistance based on his recent successes inventure capital," stated, P. Bradley Kitchen, President.
The Company also announces the resignation of director Terry Fields, whowill remain on as a consultant. Yankee Hat would like to thank Mr.Fields for his many years of service with Yankee Hat and we wish him allthe best with his new endeavours.
Yankee Hat will also be issuing stock options to its management andconsultants totalling 5,000,000 options. From this issuance, theofficers and directors will be receiving the following stock options:500,000 options to P. Bradley Kitchen, President, Chief ExecutiveOfficer and Director; 400,000 options to Cale Thomas, Chief FinancialOfficer; 350,000 options to Terence Schorn, Chairman of the Board andDirector; 200,000 options to Jason Scharfe, Director; and 200,000options to Desmond Balakrishnan, Corporate Secretary.
The appointment of Mr. Scharfe and the issuance of the stock optionswill remain subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
