Kenorland Minerals Reports Option Agreement with Centerra Gold Unit; Kenorland Minerals Falls 7.8%

02:06 PM EST, 01/24/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Kenorland Minerals Ltd. (KLD.V) on Monday reported a property option agreement with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centerra Gold Inc. (CG.TO).

Under the agreement, Kenorland has agreed to grant Centerra the option to buy up to a 70% interest in the Hunter property in the southern Abitibi Greenstone Belt, in Quebec.

On last look in Canada on Monday, Kenorland Minerals' shares fell 7.8% while Centerra Gold was down 0.9%.

Centerra can earn an initial 51% interest in the project by incurring $5 million in mineral exploration expenditures by the fourth anniversary of the option agreement. Centerra can earn an additional 19% interest in the project for an aggregate 70% interest.

Following the earning of a 70% interest, Centerra and Kenorland will form a joint venture in the project.
