Short InterestShort interest has increased 196,000 from 3,500 as of 1 Februaruy to 200,000 as of 16 February. Here it is graphically and tabular:

Notice the large spike in short interest at the begining of last August that conincided with the drop in share price last summer. Then when the shorts covered in August the share price took off starting at the end of August.

The short interest report does not tell when the short interest occured in the first two weeks of February but if you look at the price chart the share price increased in the first week of February and then decreased in the second week of February. On that basis it can be surmized short interest increased in the second week of February.
Notice that the spikes in short interest have been getting smaller since the large spike last summer coninciding with decreasing price volitility and the share price tending to track closer to the 50 day moving average and the 50 moving average recently starting to show an upward trend. This is confirmed by the MACD now reaching up to the zero line and poised to cross above it. In short, it looks like the interday low of
.365 at the end of January was the low point in the share price and that from this point onward we can expect a more orderly but slow share price appreciation and positive news and/or short covering should cause a rapid price appreciation.
