It's unlikely that the deaths of the directors was the result of foul play. I would be eager to learn if it was.
You might make a case for maybe one as pure coincidence, and leave it at that if they were or were not any issues surrounding the company. But 2? Soon after all this mess started? I think not my friend. You would be both ignorant & naive to think otherwise. And yes, you should be "eager to learn" or more appropriately to find out by whatever means if this was the case, esepcially if you are heavily vested in this company. But i doubt we will find out the truth here......ever.
The first death (Sadike Nepela) was likely the trigger that caused the minister to deny EPL renewal in the first place. From what I have read Sadike held a close relationship with the ministry. His death after a short illness (as it was reported) may have been the catalyst that set this whole thing off. Sadike passed away on Jun15 2021. The EPL was denied the next day.
I think you have your timelines ALL mixed up here sir. The only thing you got right was Mr. Nepela having a very close realtionship with many high officials in the Namibian Gov't not only the minister. Not to repeat this again or make this too long, i'll just state the following. The problems started much earlier & the Namibian Gov't wanted DSM out of Haib way before the EPL was even denied. Having examined the situation carefully, based on my vast experience spanning over 30 years investing in this industry, the problems probably started bubbling in 2020 as copper prices rose significantly and DSM having 100% of the project and the Gov't not having ANY hand in that lucrative pie. As crooks will be crooks, and greed being what it is, the ball started rolling. That;s why place like Africa a S holes to live there, to invest there or anything else to with it.
"Some may suggest that this was all pre planned by the ministry but I think otherwise"
Of course it was pre-planned to get DSM out of that project, as explained above. Anyone looking at this any other way is very ignorant. Whether the "deaths" were preplanned as well, is difficult if not impossible to prove. And like i said we will probsbly NEVER find out. My guess, they were "collateral" damage to keep certain detials or info hidden so it never comes to light. So kinda closing up some "loose ends" so to say. Who really know WTF really happened there, and my guess we will NEVER find out.
"I have no details on the death of John Akwenye so cannot comment. I am sure more information will come to light and we should wait before jumping to conclusions (or out of helicopters)."
Well, just the fact that it was "Suddenly, over the week-end" would be enough to start an inquiry & investigation in any well developped normal society that has rule of law and some reasonable, logical common sense. Especially when you consider the highly suspect details around this dossier. But this is Africa, what did you expect would happen when the average IQ both in population and with those in power in Gov't is barely 80? This is a type of stone age attitude of "me want you give" or else "me pick up rock, me throw rock, so you give". You get it? Btw, not many young folks will get the "being thrown out of a helicopter" reference, but i'm sure some well seasoned older investors surely will. Anyways, i doubt they have any helipcoters there to begin with, and the best or closest thing we hope for is being stampeded by wild animals, being inflicted by some major disease OR something like the unfortunate fate that befell those two gentlemen.
Anyone with some common sense doesn't need much to jump to any conlclusion, it's all there in the open for them to put the pieces together.
