Buyout Price Estimate

What does everyone expect the buyout price to be? 2? 5? 10? 15?

From what I know, the outstanding shares is around 256 million. The formula to determine the price per share is:

Price per Share = (Total Consideration) / (Number of Outstanding Shares)

If, for example, they sell for 10 billion that'd result in around 4 dollars a share. Does anyone have any comparisons between other buyouts - or any thing worthwhile to share?

As an interesting read, I found this paragraph online that I thought was insightful regarding buyouts. "It's important to note that this formula is just a general way to estimate the price per share in a buyout and may not always be applicable in all cases. The actual price per share may be influenced by various factors such as the financial condition of the target company, the negotiation power of the parties involved, and regulatory requirements, among others."

Have a good weekend everybody!

As a follow up to my own post, I did a little digging around and asked ChatGPT some questions regarding this. For all interested parties I've included its responses below.  I asked, "Can you find examples specific to a Canadian mine being bought out?" It wrote, "Yes, there have been several examples of Canadian mines being bought out. Here are a few notable examples:  ...more

I'm only going to comment on your math... $10,000,000,000/263,065,511(fully diluted shares, taken from the Laurion presentation on page 3) = $38.01/share.  However, as nice as 10 bill would be I don't think it's possible.

Oh snap, you're totally right! ^_^ That's a lot more optimistically framed. Thanks for catching that mistake!

All good my man!  But to answer the other part of your question of what others think... it seems as though Laurion has proven at least 10,000,000 geo's if not more. They have a highway that runs through the property so easy access. The cost to produce the asset is approx 1/4 of what other mines costs are to mine. Laurion has also got the data, progressed the project to the point that ...more

I think a buyout price of 10b is next to impossible unless gold soars over $3,000 somehow. From what I have read on here and a few other places a price of 3-5 billion seems more plausible IF we can get a buyer. There have been comments referencing that LME majority holders only want a cash deal, no stock shares in the company aqcuiring lme. I think this can definitely hinder the outlook on a ...more

One thing that I tihnk has been forgotten in all of this is the current cost of borrowing $$$.  If we're talking about a deal in the multi-billions, then that factor has to come into play when hashing it out.

Although all these numbers make my mouth water I think we are in the end looking sub $10. I think $3,4,5, would all be spectacular returns, $10.... Life altering! Perhaps a higher power is listening and delivers a +$10.  Still $230/oz is pretty conservative for a buyout price, and with 10m oz that's 2,300,000,000, or just south of $10. Let's focus on that nice round $10 price tag.
Comment by JoJoHairBlo on Feb 13, 2023 5:15pm
That's 230USD / oz.  That's somewhere north of $300CAD / oz

Guys- If Cynthia was willing to sell for some of the numbers you guys have been quoting, there would have been a buyout ages ago. The whole point is that she is not-she wants to get top dollar, or they just won't sell. I suggest that there is a lot more gold than some of you think and the price they will get per GEO will be higher than other situations because of all the pluses that LME has. ...more

I hope you are right and/or I hope to find your dealer.

Until we see some type of an official resource estimate i think we are going to be chasing our tails on price speculation. Lets hope the LME team and DRA can get something together and give us all a better idea.
Comment by matlas on Feb 13, 2023 3:19pm
My guess is that will never happen. My guess is that all you will see ione day s a PR announcing a deal. If LME wanted that type of info that would potentially boost stock price by a big amount to be released, they would have done it ages ago, For one reason or another, I think they want to keep price low until deal announced.

Matlas I hope your right and that day is coming in the near future lol..... that would be a day we all wake up and will never forget !!

$30+??? Your hopium is stronger than mine for sure, please get me some haha. That would be amazing but i think lme really needs a home run in terms of geos to hit that number and land a deal with potential suitors. Not saying it cant happen but the skeptic in me is having a hard time backing anything over $20 a share. Time will tell though!
